What does Double miles mean?

Hi, I'm looking to book a LGW-DXB-MRU flight in J class and have a couple of questions -

There is a currently a double miles offer for business and first class travel from the UK. Does this mean double the 1.5 miles that I would normally get for business? Or does it mean double the 1 mile earned in economy? If the latter then I guess it doesn't make much sense as first class is doubled anyway... I'm confused....!

Also, I was going to take advantage of the companion fare offer to purchase the tickets. Does anyone know if the 2 offers are mutually exclusive or can I get the benefit of both at the same time?

Thanks

You'll get double the miles you would get if travelling Business or First. So if it was 3000 in Economy, you'd normally get 4500 in J. With this offer, you'd get 9000.

In F, you would get 12,000.

I can't see anything that prohibits you combining this with the companion fare.

However, you cannot combine this with the online booking bonus.

Cheers,
Rick

Thanks Rick. Do you know if the tier miles would be increased also? Or would they remain as normal?

It doesn't apply for tier miles I'm afraid :)

Thanks to the OP for highlighting this offer! ^

I went to the Skywards site to look at it - saw it, was told to log in to register, but once I had done that it did not appear on the list of special offers on the site. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?

Not sure where you're based but Once you log into your skywards account you only get access to offers specific to the country/region in your profile ...

You read my mind edy! I have addresses in both Oz and UK and realised I could get the double miles by switching to the UK one. Just in time for a flight next week from London. ^
