I have flown many times in and out of Dubai and have never had an issue with losing my bags. I can only speak for myself, others may have different experiences.

I've only flown twice in and out of DXB with EK and on my way back from BLR (3 hours delay), I arrived in a very foggy DXB ... Absolute havoc !! Another 2 hours delay and arriving back il LHR, no luggage ... Took me 3 days to get them back ...

No lost or delayed luggage EVER in 22 years of flying EK (though not more than about 80 EK itineraries over that timespan)

Had one piece of luggage delayed in SIN last year (DXB-SIN-MEL) for a day, had it delivered the second day after my arrival. Still this wasn't DXB's problem.

In and out of DXB, never had any luggage delayed or lost.

Been travelling with them for 10+ years never anything lost in DBX. Only problem was bag went missing for 5 days on a trip to Tehran, compensation was really poor even traveling F.

Wait - I tell a lie. After Hajj last year, one 10 Gallon bottle of ZamZam water did not arrive in DXB from JED. EK promptly replaced it.

(ZamZam water = Holy water from the spring thought to have been discovered by Abraham's baby son from Hagar in Makkah, Saudi Arabia).

I'd say EK along with DBX baggage handling services are amongst the best! No complaints in this department.

Only once have I had bags lost and handed over to me after a three day gap. But, this I believe was a problem arising out of JNB airport.

Leaving DXB had my bag left behind once despite checking in plenty early and flying J. Took about 4-5 days to get the bag back but to be fair I was on the other side of the globe (from DXB.)

Don't you think that if baggage is lost is 99% due to the airport operations?

I've been flying with EK for over 3 years, mostly in J class, and got my luggage delayed about 8-10 times. Once I had it delayed 3x in a month

Sods law as they say. I used to fly KLM & Air France at least 4 times a month ex UK. I could guantee my luggage would be delayed (twice totally lost) at least 60% - 70% of the time. Flew to Japan with A.F luggage arrived 5 days later flew back home on the 6th day and the buggers delayed my bag yet again. Took two day to get the luggage back to me.
