Baggage interline question

I am totally unfamiliar with EK, as I have never flown the airline, but I am trying to route my father from BHM to IXC via Emirates Airlines (due to him wanting to avoid wasting time sitting in airports for long stretches of time or having to get an overnight hotel room in India to travel). I want to route him BHM-IAH on CO, then IAH-DXB-BOM on Emirates, then BOM-IXC on Kingfisher. Will his baggage be automatically transferred between all 3 airlines along the route. Also, which airline should I call to make such a reservation - or would it have to be made as multiple reservations? Please let me know, any help would be appreciated.

Yes, these three airlines interline (I think they more than interline as they are now marketing partners).

However, I find this routing very inefficient unless you are planning to spend some time in either Houston or Dubai or rather very expensive.

You should call an experienced travel agent (non-airline specific), use a third party website, or maybe try EK. I don't believe CO will book this easily.

If you give us an idea of dates, I'm sure someone here could see if there is anything quicker... I don't think the route in the OP would actually be the fastest.

Cheers,

Hi can you confirm if EK interlines with SQ as a mate is flying on EK to DXB from DEL and then transferring further to IST on SQ. Both the segments are in F if hat helps. So will the DEL agent of EK book the luggage through to IST or no???

Cheers

Are DEL-DXB-IST on one ticket?

if they r different tickets, there wont be baggage intercarting, u will have to pick up ur bags at the end of each itenary or each PNR.

Sorry to reseruct an old thread or if this has been asked before but can you interline EK with Air Asia?

I have 2 options, either a 2:20 hr stopover or 6:20 hr stopover and was thinking the first option is a bit risky if there are any delays and I can't make it to the check in desk on time.

Unfortunately the answer is no. Air Asia do not interline with anyone.
