Upgrade bucket?
 
Hi

I've done a search and I think I know the answer now but I just want to make sure. Upgrades from economy to business class are taken from the C fare bucket?

I want to fly DXB-LAX-DXB in business class. I cannot find any availability for a reward ticket using miles so I want to buy a cheap economy ticket and then upgrade both legs using miles.

did u try calling them, my experience has been that even if availability doesnt show up thru the skywards website, calling them helps, strange but has happened for me.

No I didn't, so will try that. But I think I prefer to use miles to upgrade an economy ticket though.

its C class and if it doesnt show online it wont show on EK system either.

Thanks for the help. I have Expert Flyer, so if my flight shows availability in the C bucket then my upgrade will be processed?
