Blocked waitlist for first.
 

We are flying DXB-MRU on July 21 on a RTW EK/UA ticket. There was one seat in A Class. (As usual with EK) I put my wife in first and I tried to waitlist myself for first. Agent said she could only place me in business class with no waitlist status since First was "LOCKED". Both Expert Flyer and KVS tool show 4F and 0A, and the agent said there were actually 5 empty seats in first ( out of 12 (77W).

What I do not understand is why I cannot waitlist? :confused:

ANY ADVICE?? Is this new? I have waitlisted before when there was only 1F, 0A.

Still NO A CLASS standby allowed

Checked with EK again today, still not much help.

When using RTW ticket EK/UA twice, Star and One world RTW Products,

I have been allowed to waitlist when there was no A seats available.

This case in identical to previous situations available F but no A , but now I cannot even waitlist!!

Once I re ticket I CANNOT even get an A set if it becomes available!! What a

bureaucratic ploy!!

And to re ticket will cost 150USD

I do this route every two months and waitlist is often "Closed" if you check on one of the availability sites- check Air Mauritius for thie availability of the class you are looking for as they have a code share agreement and they hold a number of seats that usually become available about 2 weeks out- or at least you will get on the waitlist at that point.

Keep calling everyday to EK and try to get on the list.

I guess you may have gathered I am a bit frustated with EK and UA..
