Seat Question on flight
 

On friday the 28th im flying BHX-DXB-BKK and have pre-assigned my seats in advance on the EK website a good while back in January.

I have 4K on the outbound EK040 and what i thought was 4K on the EK 384 flight to Bangkok.

My question is that on the Ek site im currently showed in 4K but now on me Bangkok leg it shows im seated in 4K ... but no longer appears on the site .... and all the numbers seemed to have changed etc .... starting from row 1 - 3 then jumps to 7 - 11 ..... no sign of my row.

With the current availabity there only a few seats remianing ..... will i need to choose a new seat or wait and see what has happened at checkin etc....
As i wanted a window seat and only ones that seem to be now showing are the ones in the middle of the 3 seats etc.

sounds like an aircraft change from 2 class to 3 class? We fly biz class LHR>>BKk late this year and there's been some shuffling on the DXB>>BKK leg and another thread on here suggested EK were moving to 3 class on all DXB>>BKK flts.When we flew BHX>>BKK 15 months ago we had row 4 on most of our flts but this years start at row 7 (6 actually but row 6 is held back for children and is not visible on MMB) the cabin is...Row6&7 then galley or divider then rows 8-11.

That is how its seeming to show at the moment or is looking.

But as only a few seat's left what do i do change my seat now ... or wait till checkin and then try and get row 6 A or K which itake is in the smaller cabin.

Just tryed to secure row 7K on the flight but the emirates site not playing ball...

So if im unable to sceure it befroe departure then whatis likely to happen ...... end up with something in the main cabin from rows 8-11 and in a seat anywhere ?

Or just phone EK 2mrw and REQ the seat etc that i want and query about current seat location etc.

you're skywards Gold so must know the seating configs better than me who's only flown EK biz class once(4 legs) and econ a few times.If it were me I'd select the best seat I could from what's available now then try phoning EK or when OLCI opens Thursday hope a better seat is open with last resort get to the airport early.
Don't Skywards gold have any clout when it comes to bagging seats,I know BA golds do!

I phoned EK to ask about the seat and they said i was still assigned in 4K.

But on there website it wasstill showing or what appears to be a 3 class aircraft opping the flight on EK384.

I enquired whether the aircraft had been swapped and they were unsure at Emirates Call Centre .... so i have bit the bullet and swapped my seat to 7K ... which on there website should show me in the small biz cabin .... but unsure they mention row 6 unavailable.

But looking on there website if the aircarft is to opped by a 2-class 773 then i might have made a mistake with taking 7K instead of 4K as 7K appears to be the last row on a 773 2 class.

Will find out on Friday and hope for the best.

Anybody out there that might be able to tell what machine will be opping EK384 on Saturday at 0300 ...

SuanLum cheers for your reply's ... I tryed my best to get good seats ... but unsure on this one at moment all me other seats are OK ... but seem's being a Gold dosn't make much ley way etc ..... I not really gained anything from it yet so to speak.

Had a look in booking manager on EK wesite for me flight and showed that row 1K had appeared open.... so I have now choosen to take this...

Fingers crossed it better than 7K if on a 2-class 773 ....

Either way soon find out as flight is only about 60hrs 3 days a way.

Any body out there can confirm wether this is to be opped on a the refurbed 773's or still the old ones on EK384.

It is currently showing as a 3-class not refurbished 777-300 being sold as 2 class:

The flight is also J0C0, so I think it is unlikely that they will move to a 2-class 773 which has 18 fewer seats.

So by me swapping the seat 2nite and bagging me 1k instead of 7K ...... i certainly done move.

Thats if it stay's as it is.... so should possibly be in an old F class seat.
