Emirates MAN-DXB-MLE!

Hi everyone. Me & my wife fly out in 7 days time (October 10th) for our honeymoon to Sun Island in the Maldives and are flying with Emirates. I can't wait for the flight as the ICE System looks brilliant and will certainly keep me and my wife entertained for the long flight.

Can anyone tell me if these seats are any good? Seat Guru says they are as are towards the rear where it goes into a 2-4-2 config, but was wanting to know from anyone who has used these seats?

MAN - DXB EK018 47A & 47B 777-300
DXB - MLE EK558 38A & 38B 777-200

Also does anyone know the registrations of the aircraft assigned to this route on October 10th (MAN - DXB) & October 11th (DXB -MLE)

Thanks

I'm not sure how much help this will be but on 747's I think the 2 ?? 2 rows are the best (well the 2 person rows are) and when flying in economy request them but never the last row at the very back. Some planes have toilets there and people loiter and lean on the back of your seat. The 4 in the middle are not the best you want the ones next to the windows. I'm presuming a 777 is similar but one of the others will know. I've never flown in economy on a 777.

There are a few other seat guide site that may offer some more advice. Enjoy your trip.

I'd ring up emirates and say your on honeymoon and request something simple like champagne...this might just possibly trigger an upgrade to business. Somewhat Unlikely but possible! Also mention it at checkin. The MAN dubai route is busy so you may not get it but you never know.

I have noticed that some of the odd seats in the very rear of the aircraft appear to have IFE screens that are off-center to the passenger and therefore might be difficult to view. I have never sat in one of these seats - only observed their position when I was taking a walk around the plane.

BTW, I wouldn't be too thrilled about sitting by the toilets on any ex-MAN EK flight. Have a great flight.

Thanks for your help there guys, much appreciated.

I have already selected the above seats, and you are spot on about the screens being off centre, but that is only in Seats 46 A,B,I & J where the 2 seaters start. The reason for the screens being off centre is because infront on the first set of 2 seaters are the backs of the 3 seats so the screens can't be level.

I have gone for the next row back, which is a few rows infront of the toilets. Looking at Seat Guru it is the last 2 rows in the centre of the plane at the back which are right next door to the toilet and are meant to be awful.

Emirates have already very kindly said they will provide a honeymoon cake, and this is booked on the MAN - DBX route.

Also Patrick Brannelly who is Vice President of Emirates In Flight Passenger Communications & Visual Services has very kindy sent me an e-mail with all the films that are on for October (he did this before it was made available on the Emirates website) and then also sent the actual ICE Programme Schedule you get onboard when they were printed last week, so I could plan what to watch in advance. For someone so high up in Emirates to take time out to send something like that all the way from Dubai to the U.K I found to be a nice touch.

I very much doubt they will upgrade us, but from what I have seen so far from Emirates I am very impressed!

When travelling together with my wife on EK's 777 we always choose the two window seats in rows 46 or 47. Good seats - you have your privacy.
Absolutly no problem with the IFE screens in row 46 - only little off center, but no problem at all!
