777ER and 777 Bulkhead Seats
In DEC im flying BHX-DXB-BKK on a mixture of 77W and 773 and rtn 2 weeks later.
When i brought me ticket with emirates online i was given window seats near the front of Econ. Did a bit of reaserch on Seatguru and Emirates Seat maps and it shows that the bulk heads were Row 8 and 38. I rang skywards and asked if i could swap seats well before me departure date to try and secure bulkhead seast across the range of flights. Skywards Rep reccomened Row 38 as being bulkhead on all type of 777 that im on .......and less chance of having a bady etc next to me rather than being in Row 8. So i went ahead and swapped to Row 38 on all flights but i'm unsure whether this is actually the bulkhead row etc ... He assured me it was. Any one ever had this row from previous experince Cheers |
Looking at the seat maps on the Emirates site, it looks like 38 is the bulkhead row - but only on the middle 4 seats (G,F,E,D). IMO, you are just as likely to get a baby here than on row 8.
Row 37 is the exit row for the 3 seats on each side (A,B,C,H,J,K). Make sure you're not in any of these seats on row 38, as they tend to be the worst of the whole plane, as you get the IFE box of the seat in front taking up most of the legroom). Cheers, Rick |
Im seated in 38K on both of my outbounds BHX-DXB-BKK and on the rtn i have 38C and 38A.
So from what your saying im possibly in the first row behind the emergency exit row of 37. If that is the case then i will possibly have to check in rather early and see if i can get the emergency exit row seats in Row 37 on my out bound etc from BHX. Unsure what will happen on me rtn as first flight is a night flight and have chosen an aisle seat for this the one onwards to BHX might be able to get the emergncy exit row. Flight deaprts BKK at 0130 and my flight from Phuket arrives into BKK at about 2230 so will be 50 - 50 if i can get the extra seats on the next flights etc Thanks for the reply |
I'd get out of your row 38 seats ASAP for the moment. Then try to check in early and get the exit row.
Emirates won't allow pre-booking of exit row seats. They have to see that you are physically able, and get it authorised by a supervisor. I'm normally there 4 hours before the flight if I'm on the MAN-DXB in Y :) Cheers, Rick |
Phoned EK again today and swapped my current batch of seats as it seems i was in the first row behine the emergency exit row in R37.
Now got EK40 BHX-DXB 47K EK384 DXB-BKK 46K EK385 BKK-DXB 45H EK39 DXB-BHX 47K At least i will only have one person sitting next to me at the rear of the aircraft where it narrows... unfortunately somebody had already got R46 on me other sectors and chosse 45H for the night flight back to DXB as it shows no body behind it on EK's seat map on the 773. So hopefully a better selection. |
