Where to take my Emirates Miles

Hello from an FT newbie.

Starting much business travel from NYC to Middle East, and will be racking up flown miles with Emirates. Since my business travel is paid for and Emirates is not my best option for leisure flights, I'm trying to figure out where best to put the miles I earn.. Here's my profile:

NYC based (prefer LGA), travel primarily domestic US, international to India and Western Europe. Currently have most of my miles with Delta.

I have heard that Emirates flights can accrue miles on United or Continental, maybe others?

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks,
Matt

You might want to move this to Emirates forum.

A quick visit to Emirates website leads you to their skywards site. http://www.skywards.com/partners_ataglance.aspx

Delta is a partner so you wont have to lose those miles earned on Emirates by presenting your DL account number.

Hope this helps.

where did you see Delta on there? Looks like just UA and CO...

Correct - Emirates cannot be transfered to DL.

Furthermore, to make things more complex, UA and CO do not give qualification miles for these Emirates partner miles, so while they can be used for reward travel, they aren't helping me with status.

Sorry if this is posted in the wrong forum, but since it relates to many FF programs and is a more general question, I thought this was the place.

Thanks for the replies so far.

If you want the status miles, you're gonna have to post the miles to Emirates, I think. If it helps, I believe that CO is planning on starting ns service to DXB from EWR in the near future. For now, you could always connect to DXB through AMS on a variety of SkyTeam partners and get full milage like that... not as nice as that JFK-DXB nonstop, but not horrible (AMS is about halfway between NYC and DXB, and I've been on that KLM flight into Dubai a few times).

And oh yeah, welcome to FT! ^
