AA points to Skywards

Dear All,

My first post on this website so pardon any slips I make.

I have 10k points in my AA account from a flight I made on AA a while ago. I dont see them getting used at all in the future. I want to transfer them to my Emirates Skywards account which I use much more often. Any way to do this? I know a direct transfer is not possible but I am willing to take an indirect route, such as through a hotel program etc.

Please do not recommend any Credit Card prog as I reside outside the US.

Look forward to your reply

Thanks and Regards

The only way I could find:

American AAdvantage converts to Diners Club Club Rewards at a 1:0.5 ratio
10K AA becomes 5K Diners Club

Diners Club converts to Starwood Preferred Guest at a ratio of 1250:750
5K DC becomes 3K *wood

Starwood Preferred Guest converts to Skywards at a ratio of 1:1
3K *wood becomes 3K EK

I would only recommend this if you have no use whatsoever for the AA miles.

Have you thought of donating your orphan AA miles to a worthy cause? Details can be found on their website.

I also noticed your profile shows you are an hhonors member. I still think AA to HH points is a good value. 10k miles would yield 20k HH points which is enough for a CAt 2 night in the HH program.
