Help on DXB/BKK
Hi guys
I am in big trouble. The very last portion of my ARTWEKUA is DXB/BKK. My ticket was issued by UA, and booking with UA, thereīs no seat availeble in A, C or Y in the week of July 10. When I checked in Seatcounter, it showed some seats, so I called EK, and they told me that they can not book seat for me because my ticket is issued by UA. Did you have this kind of trouble? Do you have any sugestion? Thanks in advance |
I'm a little confused by your post. Did you open-date your ticket? Why would you book an itinerary if you couldn't get the flights you wanted? You booked it with UA in what class if theres no availability?
1. I see availability in Y for July 10th on EK386. Trying waitlisting for First and Business. 2. Try flying DXB-SIN and buying the last portion on a cheap LCC. 3. Try flying DXB-KUL and buying the last portion on a cheap LCC. 2+3 may require re-route fee. |
Hey There -
The same problem happened with me and luckily I found a "C" class on another DXB-BKK flight.
Are you just trying EK418 or the other flights to BKK as well? A Class gets filled quickly on the route because the one with A class goes on to Auckland. I don't understand why they have only one flight a day with A class. Nonetheless, ask the agent if any of the OTHER EK flights that day have "C" class. I can't imagine the flights are that packed. Keep trying because people change their itinerary all the time and you have to keep calling. Calling EK will NOT help you at all. You have to book it with UA. Good luck. I'm doing the route tomorrow and managed an "A" class seat, but I had to go a month out. My friend wasn't so lucky, she has to fly in "C" - and on another flight. Good luck UG |
So UG you tried for month to find a īCī seat?
I canīt even waitlist.. I canīt reroute since I have to end this trip in BKK This is realy bad..... |
work with UA only, EK can't really help on a UA ticket. I think UA might only be looking at EK 418 since that is the only one with F class. On 10th July, EK 384 and EK 386 both show plenty of availablity in Y and EK 384 has plenty in J. (EK 386 only has one J seat.) If you ask the UA agent for these specific flights and they refuse, ask why.

I called 1K desk 2 times, both said no waitlist.
I asked why, they told me that system would not accept. They tried to book ´C´ and ´K´ , was all full I think I´ll just keep trying. It´d easier if I had bought a EK ticket? |

My understanding is that UA/EK RTWs are booked in A/C/K on the EK flights--not F/P/J or Y.
The availability of seats on BKK/DXB flights have been a real problem on the RTWs. Quote:

A Class...
I waited for an "A" class to open up. And last night, when I tried to book online, it showed it was full so I had to keep the seat I was given. When I checked in, I asked for my seat and it was given to me. The first class cabin had FIVE people in it, and C class was also half empty.
So my recommendation is, if you want to go this route. Find any "C" class seat and then show up to the airport the day of departure and say you need to get home to BKK. It all depends on if you want to risk it. I would. Because if you go with a confirmed economy, you are going to have a tough time to get your C Class seat. Just my personal opinion. UG |
One more thing...
I flew DXB-BKK on A Class today. I tried to find another A class seat for later this week and couldn't and booked it in "C" -
There is no way if you find a "C" class on any of the flights if you show up, I doubt you'll have any problems getting on... Good luck and let me know - UG |

Luckily I have never had problems with finding C class on RTWs so I haven't had to book a lower class, but on other revenue tickets, I always booked into Y class if C wasn't available. I'm surprised that this doesn't apply to RTWs too Cheers |
The problem is that EK doesn´t open up A/C/K seats.
I hope that EK opens then from time to time... I see a lot of J seat or Y/B/M etc just no C/K In worst scenario, I´m just going to show up and see ... |
