Help needed desperately !!
 

Hello,

I need to make a decision asap on a trip to BHX from BLR.

1. I have a choice between AF (via CDG) and EK (via DXB with a 12-hour stopover ). The DXB stopover helps me spend the night with family. I am on the verge of turning into FB Silver and have a tempting 12,500 miles offer on EK from BLR to BHX. Which should I take ? I am personally tending towards EK....

2. I have around 20k miles on EK and wish to redeem them for an upgrade to J on the DXB-BHX sector. Can this be done on the spot at the check-in counter at BHX or do I have to do make an advance notification of this ?

I'd definately go for EK.

As for the upgrade, you'll have to organise that with Skywards beforehand.

Upgrade, I think you need to do it 2 days in advance.

If you will benefit from the 12 hour stopover, then I'd go with EK.

Upgrades cannot be procced at checkin (when using miles, at least.) Organize it beforehand. It can be done till a few days before departure, and there is usually high availability.
