8pm to 8am stopover in DXB - Suggestions?
I'm flying JFK-SIN-JFK with a 12 hour overnight stopover in DXB.
It's an F ticket, but my JFK-DXB segment is in J (availability I assume). Any thoughts on how to spend the 10 hours? Is the F lounge open 24 hours? Does Emirates take care of it's F pax with long layovers? This will be my first trip on Emirates, and my first in International F - I'm looking forward to it - but not my 3:00am departure from SIN... :) David |
The F lounge is certainly open 24 hours, the nighttime is the busiest for the airport, it is comfortable, with a full bar and buffet as well as excellent showers
One thing though. I remember the opening of check in for flights was not until 4 hours before departure (check with EK) about their policy regarding this as things may have changed, so careful about leaving the airport as I got stuck going KUL-DXB-EWR on MH couple years ago because I went into the city |

Call EK and ask for STPC arrangements. As you are flying in F, and have a (forced I assume?) layover you will be given a free hotel for the night.

Follow up -
I called Emirates to arrange the comp hotel room, and they tell me they can't do it, because there is an earlier connecting flight with availability in F. Needless to say, I took it, and am now on the 2:45am (instead of the 8:45am) flight to SIN. I wonder if their website was confused, or someone cancelled... Anyways, thanks for the info! |

EK is very strict with forced layovers. If you forced a layover (ie there is an earlier connecting flight) you will not get STPC Cheers |
