First class versus business
Within the next two months, my wife and I will be flying CAI-DXB-MRU-- our first flights on Emirates. I note that the cost premium between first class and business class is less than $125pp. I'm inclined to go for it, but for those familar with Emirates in general, and these flights in particular, would you recommend the first class?

From what I have seen on here, the planes that are used DXB-MRU aren't the refitted ones, so they don't have the best First class product. Also, I thought those were only two class planes according to the seating chart (which would account for price difference) but I could be wrong.
Its really up to you whether or not you want to do it, but I think for that particular route you wouldn't be really getting the real First Class treatment. I could be wrong though, I've never flown it before. I'm flying it in economy next week though ;) |
Hey,
For $125pp (USD?) I would go for it without a doubt. In fact, on the older planes, IMHO the difference between First and Business is even greater in terms of seat pitch etc Cheers |
I support sadiqhassan on this one... go for first!!
Where do you find your prices - on emirates.com ?? |
First
With $125 price difference, go for first...
EK F and J are different... especially on the older a/c... Of course, there will be no suites on EK 332, but then the full flat sleeper seats are much nicer than the EK J seats with limited pitch and recline. The width is also much better especially EK has 2-3-2 in J. The food is also much better... on DXB-MUR and return, the meals are savory snacks and breakfast. The F snack selection is a bit better. Amenities -- a nicer a/kit and PJ... Also more bonus miles... $125 sounds really good... Carfield |
Thanks for the information- it's very helpful. Sorry for the misinformation- the difference is US$224- but based on what you say, still worth it, I think. The fares were on ITA namely, US$864 (JOWEG1) and US$1088 (FOWEG1)- one-way (connecting two RTWs).

On the MUR route they will have a mid level service, where they serve a meal (usually minus soup course, no caviar). However the seats are where the huge difference lies. F class you will get a better sleep. |
