I was watching the F1 last night and the Emirates sponsorship of McLaren got me thinking what other extremely expensive sports Emirates sponsor. My list so Far:
F1- Mclaren Premier League- Chelsea Football World Cup- Germany 2006 Horse Racing- The Melbourne Cup Super 14 Rugby - Western Force AFL – Collingwood (Only Australian will Americas Cup - Team Zealand Plus they sponsor several other major events that I will not bore with the detail. They seem to focus on some of the most expensive sports and throw Millions of Dollars at them. I would be very surprised if this comes from the Emirates Budget maybe a little of the cash comes from the Royal Family ;) No I am not suspicious :D NB: Good one them for supporting the worlds sporting events and teams! ^ |

They don't sponsor Chelsea anymore, that finished last year. They'll be sponsoring Arsenal from next year, and the new Arsenal stadium is called the Emirates Stadium.
I think the deal is £100m over 10 years. There's currently a segment on the Emirates News channel of EK flights about sport sponsorship. Cheers, Rick |
And from next season they will sponsor HSV, the 1.division football club from Hamburg.

During the football world cup in Germany Emirates will have a big promotion in 16 airports worldwide.
On big television cubes they will show all world cup games live! |
