Auckland Lounge?
Which lounge can EK business class passengers use in Auckland? I remember hearing that Emirtaes were building their own lounge in AKL, but I'm unsure as to whether its completed yet or not?
Thanks |
From the Emirates website:
...Emirates Airport Lounge in Auckland offers a place of refuge while you wait for your flight and is available to all First and Business Class passengers as well as Skywards Gold members who are travelling in Economy Class. The lounge is equiped with a business centre, dining and lounge areas, plus showers and toilets. http://www.emirates.com/nz/Traveller...ndeklounge.asp |

Looks complete from the outside. EK lounge at AKL is located at the foot of the escalator to NZ and QF lounges. This is down a short passage on the right hand side heading towards the pier (before the slight slope).

Has anyone used this lounge? Any comments?

I was in the AKL lounge las Monday, and was favorably impressed (though it may also have been the op-up from J to F on my AKL-SYD flight ^ ). There were various snacks out, including kebabs and other hot items and a table with sliced fresh fruit. My only complaint was that I do not recall any windows.

How about computers? Showers? Wines? Did you find it a pleasant environment? |
There were four computers with Internet access. Wines and other beverages were available, though I did not partake other than water (I was looking forward to the pre-takeoff Dom on-board). I did not notice showers, though I also did not look (I was on a somewhat tight connection from Air NZ, and I did not have time for more than a quick e-mail check, glass of water and light snack). Various newspapers and magazines were also available.

Thanks for the info!
