Lost Baggage
 

Has anyone experienced lost baggage with Emirates? They lost my baggage on a flight from Zurich to Dubai and I am having the hardest time trying to reach someone at their New York office. Everytime I call they tell me that the baggage dept person is not in the office (is there only one?). I actually called long distance to Dubai, but still that did not help (the most impolite people I have ever come across). Is this standard at Emirates?

Do they compensate? If so, whats the limit?

Last week I flew from HYD to ZRH via Dubai on Emirates. The gate agent asked me to check my carry on because it was heavy and they don't have space in the plane's overhead bins. So I did. When I arrived in Zurich, my carry on did not show up but rest of my luggage showed up. I contacted the baggage handling service agent for Emirates at Zurich(their office was next to the baggage claim) and filed a lost luggage complaint. Two days later my carry on luggage was delivered intact to my home in Dallas/Ft.Worth, TX.

I recommend that you call Emirates in New York/Houston and ask to speak to North American Area Manager. I don't have the name of the person. Good luck.
