Defecting from BA to Emirates

Hi there, I am currently BA Silver, but with their new rules I will loose that status...

I have had look at the Emirates website, and seen they also have TP's & Miles. Are there any hacks for Emirates like there used to be for BA? for example hotel & flight or Flight & Car get double TP during a promotion period?

Thanks

I believe the best way is to sign up for the credit card to get one year of EK Gold status, then you'll have to earn it the regular way afterwards.

Skywards plus, premium subscription, gets you 20% more tier miles per flight, but it's around 1000 USD per year.

Codeshare with Qantas.

.

Unless you are in the UK - there is no EK credit card available in the UK to the best of my knowledge.

If you're looking for long-term shortcuts to status, EK isn't the program for you.
You would, however, choose EK because it's vastly superior to BA and you usually fly long haul eastwards.

If you're based in London and do short-haul, I'd suggest AFKL, or if you want to stay within oneworld, perhaps Royal Jordanian's program is attractive.
Your BA silver could easily be RJ Plat/oneworld emerald without many changes to your existing flying behaviour.

Many thanks

So if I get the Gold for a Year, it is a Soft landing and the end of the year ? or reset to Blue?
