Three class mid range a380 disembarking DBX

Hi all,

I’m currently booked on flight EK16, which has a 1.50hr layover in Dubai for my onward journey. Due to the tight connection, I would like to exit the plane fairly quick. My seat is 68k economy, am I correct that they will use two airbridges, with one in the adjacent cabin? While I could sit right at the front, I don’t tend to like those seats on aircraft’s. I’ve never travelled on a a380, so I don’t know how quickly it takes to disembark.

thanks

Yes they would use 2 airbridges normally - i hr 50 is not too tight if things run to time

I use EK16 at least twice a year. As it is the LGW flight, it usually leaves on time and arrives a bit early (LHR flights seem to have more departure delays).
One hour 50 mins is ample time to connect, I have done 1 hour many times. In the unlikely event of the connection ending up very tight, there will be someone at the end of the airbridge with a sign with your next destination on it to help you negotiate the transfer. (I assume your next flight is also EK and on the same booking).
There is no need to stress in your scenario.
(if you are flying early September, let me know via DM and I can guest you into the LGW lounge).

Previous 68 A and K regular here..

To put it bluntly, whilst I agree with the other comment regarding your connection time not being tight (I frequently have less than 1 hour 30), Emirates will decide whether or not you will board your next flight. You will receive notification via email that you have been swapped to a different flight prior to landing if they don't think you will make it. So I wouldn't give up a decent seat just to move closer to the front.

We are all assuming that the onward flight is also with EK. If this is indeed the case then there is absolutely no problem with 1 hour 50 transit but if the onward is with a different airline and different terminal , or separate tickets then I would agree that it is rather tight.

I think it’s an educated assumption. If we are talking different terminals then there would be a lot more pressing concerns than the seating location!
