Upgrading second leg at DXB (in transit)
 

Hi all, I am planning a flight from FRA to TRV via DXB. I am not ready to pay the (rather insane) price for business class straight-up but rather would use skywards miles to upgrade from economy. As yet, Emirates is not showing any available upgrade for my planned travel date early march. If this situation does not change then I would try upgrade at check-in. I have understood this requires individual upgrades for each leg separately (FRA-DXB and DXB-TRV). If upgrade FRA-DXB works out then the next upgrade request can be made at the Business Lounge in DXB. However, where do I go if my arrival to DXB is in economy? Still at the lounge or is there a separate desk at transit in T3? Sorry if this question has been asked before.

There is a Skywards desk in B concourse, just underneath the escalator to the lounges. That’s where to go to ask for the upgrade. If they give you the upgrade there and then, you can go to the lounge. It is also possible that you only get the BP for the upgrade at the gate (depending on availability they may wait until T-60 minutes before actually issuing it). If you use the EK app and have your BP in there, it should also update the BP as soon as the upgrade is issued.
