Mixed Class / Multi City ?
Hi there,
I’ll be booking flights (AKL-NCL rtn) but I want to book business on the outbound but economy on the inbound because I want to use my miles to upgrade to J. I can’t seem to be able to select the mix of classes I want when booking, unless I book a ‘multi city’ trip. That fine, but for some reason, when I do this, the chauffer drive isn’t listed as a benefit of the J sector. Just a glitch? Are there any downsides to booking a multi city trip that I should be aware of? Quirks with mileage or anything? Thanks |

Thanks Re chauffeur drive, on your return leg where you want to upgrade to business with miles, chauffeur drive is no longer permitted on a Y to J upgrade. That has been the case since about March 2019. There should be no problem getting chauffeur drive for your paid J outbound leg, unless you purchased a 'special' fare, which I think is also ineligible for chauffeur drive. |
Thanks,
So had the online system changed recently, because all it will offer me as options is one class above what I select. Eg: if I select J, it only offers F as a comparison not Y. Ill book using the multi city option though i’d there’s no downside to doing that 😁 |

Then when you get to choosing flights, you can select Business for your outbound flights and select Economy for your inbound flights. Hopefully that makes sense! And there's no downside to booking using multi-city. |
Thanks for that 😁
I’d tried before starting with economy but it only offered PE as the the other option. Just tried now, and I can see business as an option 😁 I’d like to blame an Emirates glitch, but it’s quite possible my iphone 6s is dropping subtle hints lol |
