Apologies if this has been asked and answered, but I didn't see anything in search on this.
When traveling from Newark to Dubai via Athens in business class, what is the experience at ATH like? From a TripAdvisor review, it looks like one would have to deplane with bags and then re-board but WITHOUT a security check again. Is that correct? I am guessing that everyone in business class goes to the lounge which is hopefully nearby. Anything else to be aware of?
Thanks!

How is the business seat? Says ANGLED lie flat.
and meals?
anything else I should know when booking. I like that EWR-ATH is NS during the winter and price best available (other than Air Egypt) for business. Appreciate any commentary

I flew the ATH-DXB leg the other day and we had the third oldest 777 in the EK fleet. It was pretty terrible, on top of that we got stuck in a remote stand at 4:20am when we landed at DXB.

EK is mostly using the newest generation of the B77W Business seats, still in 2-3-2 configuration but fully flat on the DXB-ATH-EWR flights. EK operates a afternoon flights from DXB / night flight back from ATH these are turnaround flights where often some of the oldest B77W's of the fleet are being utilized.

The meals wouldn't be any different. The 777 seats are angled lie-flat but they're very mild angles, so they're not as bad as other angled lie-flat seats. They're also not as good as flat beds. The bigger concern is that they're 2-3-2 in business, so you may get stuck with a middle seat in business. It isn't a particularly competitive product, which is why the fare is relatively low.
