First Class Special Services
So what is the deal with special services when flying First Class? I am tagged as CIP within my booking based on my position and spend influence, but I have had a pickup from the gate on arrival maybe one time in 4 years. Happy to accept DM's if someone knows the way...

I thought everyone Gold and above was tagged CIP? Means nothing really.

During COVID, pickup and escort from gate in Dubai was standard for all F pax, whether terminating in DXB or connecting. At some point they switched it to only offer to connecting F pax.
Unless you're talking about outstations, I've only seen a pickup/escort from gate for iOs or VIPs (politicians, celebrities, etc) |

Pickup from the gate on arrival at DXB seems to be a standard F service these days. Not aware of anything else, but then I’m just a lowly Gold and only influence my own spend and that of mrs t.

I am arriving Business Class (No First offered on the route) and connecting onto First, i've usually done F-F and had the buggy/escort service throughout. Does anyone know If this will happen as I disembark from Business - or is it everyman for themselves??

I did the same thing back in March and there was no buggy. In fact a short connection was made even shorter by late arrival, leaving less than 50 minutes before departure of the F sector. An EK agent was standing shouting for any pax to SYD and then proceded to lead us on a route march through security to the next gate. No lounge visit or special treatment at all.

Is it true the chauffeur drive is still suspended in BKK, HKG and TLV? Those are the cities I fly to in EK F - but only the option to book a chauffeur in DXB is offered during a 2 day stop.

Maybe it’s because of my first segment (bkk-hkg) that it is grayed out? |

Go to the Emirates website and look under ‘The Emirates Experience > Chauffeur Drive where you can input the city concerned and it will give you complete information. You’ll see that HKG offers CD for F only but you have to call to book it. TLV has no CD (has it ever had in its short existence as an EK destination)? For BKK see lost-in-translation’s response.
