Update:
Received my refund from Emirates after submitting a complaint through BBB. Remain banned from Emirates for “unknown reasons” according to their customer affairs helpline. No written confirmation regarding the same from emirates. Its frustrating that they won't tell you the reason for the ban. I guess there is no way to find out unless you take them to court, which would be a long & expensive process that is not worth it in the end. |

The real loss to me would be EK’s route network and F footprint, which EY and QR just aren’t able to match. Going west, I’m usually loyal to TK - and going east, I suppose I’ll be settled for any number of wonderful airlines in that part of the world.
If Etihad had its former route network, particularly LAX frequencies I’d be using them more. |
Any other anecdotes of this happening?
I was literally about to transfer 600K or more MR points to Emirates to book 3 J class tickets. Is there some TOS that says I am not supposed to do this? I kinda thought that's the whole purpose of these partnerships. Am I stepping into something that is against policy? |

Same question here - is this still happening to folks that are just trying to use a points transfer partner for MR to book award flights?

Reading this has made me anxious now. Booked my family of 4 on J in November.

Does anyone know of somebody in Emirates who can look into this for me?
I’m more curious than anything else. |
