Fares are through the roof
Been looking at a lot of fares in the 2nd half of the year and they're sky high in J, multiple destinations, multiple origins, and never DXB as origin/destination. Granted, everyone's fares are higher but EK's are up 50% vs 25% for most others.
Anyone have any insight? |

Loads are really good across the network in F/J (bearing in mind fleet utilisation), fuel costs up, time to make some money, simple as that.
Got to repay the 3bn USD injected by the owner in 2020 somehow! |

Managed to get a decent EI fare to the US before they push their surcharges up (BA have already started). |
I have noticed this too.
I normally fly MAN to BKK with Emirates two times a year in J and pre-covid would have expected to pay around £2,300/£2,400. Emirates prices for many different dates later this year are around £3,400 and sometimes more for my preferred flight times. For example on 29 May 2022 my preferred flight times are priced at £4,100 (no savers available). At these prices I will not be flying Emirates. Hopefully I will get a better price with Qatar, especially if I start my trip fom Amsterdam. If not, it will likely be Turkish from MAN. |

It's higher in some cases. MAN-DXB is now £3k for a J Saver!

I think it is all The Russians now flying via UAE since there are not many flights to Russia and also no Russian airlines. TK is going to raise their fares too because of this most probably.

I used to fly VCE-AKL three times a year and usually it wasn't more than 4,600 €. I went to book today and it was over 6,000 to travel mid-May.
Way to much for waiting 10hrs in the Businness Lounge in Dubai and no chauffeur-drive. |

I wonder if international travel will bounce back at raised fare.

I note that fares for my chosen route (YYZ-DXB-AMM) is up over 50% in price! And when I compare to the great deal I got in 2019, it causes quite the shock. Was about to book for a later summer trip, but have scrapped that.

I wanted to fly DXB-DOH next week, AED5,000 RTN in Y on FlyDubai, crazy.
