Thank you!
Any news on the resumption of CPT? Looks like it is available to book from 15/1. Is that ‘official’?

Nothing official as far as I'm aware. Flights have been rostered with crew assigned, but are subject to cancellation if the restrictions aren't removed.

Thanks

Any update on EDI?

Brisbane back to 5 weekly as of yesterday. Before was only 3 weekly. Daily will be effective from March. Still far cry of the 3 daily we used to have before.

CaptainEKAirbus do you have any insight on the resumption of HND? I believe it was originally scheduled for January, now pushed out to March 1... any idea if further delays are likely?

I imagine this will depend on when Japan reopens borders, no? I doubt there’s a business case for it returning until foreigners are allowed in again and possibly not until international tourism is allowed to resume.

Not necessarily, there are many factors in play:
-outbound pax from Japan
-transfer pax
-cargo uplift with the pseudo-demise of CX
-etc...

Yes you're exactly right.

No idea unfortunately. NRT and KIX flights are both heavily seat restricted. They're probably waiting for some additional seat allotments before restarting HND.

Unfortunately I have no visibility on EDI.

Either I missed this, or it wasn't updated at the time:

EK448 KUL/AKL downgraded to the 77L, effective Mar 27

This could be indicative of this flight transitioning to a non-stop service, discontinuing the stop in KUL. Since the 77L has longer legs than the 77W and NZ is gradually opening over the next few months, this tends to support that EK448 will again become a non-stop service.

EK77W Jan 5, 2022 12:07 pm

Eff 1st Feb
ZRH from 11 weekly to 14 weekly
BRU from 10 weekly to 12 weekly

CaptainEKAirbus Jan 12, 2022 9:51 pm

Flights to and from CKY, EBB, ACC, ABJ, and LAD will resume with effect from January 13th. Passengers will be able to travel to DXB if they meet the more stringent covid test requirements.

Hoping to see some other destinations resumed once covid testing protocols can be sorted.

Hope that CPT is one of the 'other destinations' you refer to. Seems like EK 771/2 are bookable from 16/1 so holding thumbs.

EK009 LGW resumption delayed until Feb 8
EK015 LGW downgraded to the 77W, effective Jan 18 until Feb 1
EK205 MXP/JFK downgraded to the 77W, effective Jan 23 until Mar 1
EK770 CPT resumes on the 77W, effective Mar 31 (CPT will be 10 weekly if ZA flights resume)

Israel has removed the UAE from their red list, meaning vaccinated travellers can travel between the two countries again. I see TLV has been put into schedule to commence as of Mar 1, but tickets are not being sold yet.

What about EK772 CPT? Would expect that to be before Mar 31. I’m booked on it on Mar 24 but would probably want to move that forward….
