Email upgrade offer benefits

I have accepted a email upgrade offer man-dxb
I Am a bit surprised to to read in the terms
Hold luggage and carry on allowances are as per the original booking
And no priority check-in
What's everyone else's experience of this ?
is this enforced ? I could do with a few extra kgs in my case

On the routes I do I tend to find EK are pretty relaxed on allowances. In your case I would say you would certainly be able to take extra in carry on if that is an option.

Havent seen these strictly enforced on upgrade offers, other than no lounge access (but that was overridden by gold status having lounge access anyway)

They are usually cash offers and far cheaper than actually paying the cost of a J ticket.

In substance, these upgrade offers are seat and cabin experience only. No lounge access, no chauffeur drive, same tier miles and skywards miles earnings as per original booking, same luggage allowance as per original booking. I have seen the latter being enforced in Auckland (AKL) in September.

It is anyone’s best judgment to define if the offer is good or not.

To add, it also depends entirely on the economy fare bucket you purchased. Obviously it is a lot more beneficial for someone who purchased a saver ticket vs someone on a Flex+ ticket.

Yep… MAN-DXB would be around £450 previously. EK are milking it while they can. £3k MAN-DXB returns

defiantly no lounge and chauffeur
imo priority check in would be applied since your actual ticket says business

however, once i went to SE asia and after my upgrade to business i went FROM 40KG in ECO to 35KG in Business!
i did not risk going over... not sure about others? @all?
