b) any news when EK will cut the LHR rotation in the light of recent developments? Guess 4x 380 seems to be an expensive way to fly hot air (once all the Brits are back from their Xmas holiday)

You'll probably see EK 5/6 and perhaps EK 29/30, chopped for a few weeks or months. Passenger demand ex the UK has really dried up right now.
I suspect it will go back something similar to the Autumn schedules. MAN/GLA/BHX back to 3 weekly B777. LHR daily B777. Anyway, just realised that this isn't the rumour thread :) |

Just as MAN had gone back to 10 weekly A380. :(

Anyway, just realised that this isn't the rumour thread :) I am hearing that a new commercial plan extending to the end of the summer is in the works... perhaps we'll see that published in the next few weeks. The good news, and with perhaps some inherent bias, is that there's supposed to be plenty more A380s flying over the summer. In the mean time however, EK has been banned from HKG for another two weeks until Jan 22. https://simpleflying.com/emirates-hong-kong-flight-ban/ |

Could you clarify for me... EK being banned from HKG, is that specific to HKG or to all of mainland China?? And would one presume this lock-out (regardless if only HKG or all of China) to be a rolling target with no certainty to how much farther out into the future the lock-out might last?
Passengers travelling to Bangkok as the final destination will be accepted for travel. However, Emirates assured that flights from Hong Kong have not been disrupted, and customers booked to travel on flight EK 385 from Hong Kong during this period will continue to be accepted for travel. https://gulfnews.com/business/aviati....1610256760591 |

The Chinese objected to the Taiwanese flag on the pins is what was reported at the time. Was the HK flag ever there?

EK to restart services to Seattle from February 1, and Dallas and San Francisco from March 2.

Wonder if the 772 will be permanent on the DFW-DXB route.

I think it will eventually go back to a 77W, who knows about A380 though.
