Even more important (to FTers) is that you still pay the YQ on top of the miles used when you buy an award ticket That’s why a straight miles award is usually a poor value. When upgrading with miles, they don’t collect any difference in YQ (they do collect the extra APD for flights originating in the UK although that does not affect J to F upgrades as the APD is the same for any cabin higher than Y - to the great annoyance of people travelling in a PE cabin on some airlines).

Aside: it would appear that on J tickets the YQ component has been reduced. Can’t quite remember the exact numbers, but I did a dummy booking the other day and YQ was about 10% of the total fare.

The UK-DXB taxes/surcharges was up over £700 pre-covid. Now about £330.

Which is exactly why full mileage redemption tickets are actually decent value now!

I don't know if the code is personal / targeted or anything like that. I have sent it to you via PM.

The discount is only valid on Saver, Flex and Flex Plus fares in Economy Class and Business Class.

The discount is only valid on Flex and Flex Plus fares in First Class.

Valid for departures from any Emirates network origin (excluding USA origins) and to any Emirates network destination. Amendment and cancellation fees may apply and will vary depending on destination and class of travel. Check “fare conditions” from an online quote to view these and other applicable fare conditions.

Fares apply per person, including all taxes and charges. Limited seats available.
This offer is not valid with any other promotions unless stated otherwise.
This is headline in the email that I got:

Fly across our network at 10% off
The headline on the email is both confusing and disappointing as it sets an expectation of 10% off your ticket price, as a lay person would understand it, and the reality is in the small print.

I agree, but seasoned FT'er (of which I am sure you are one ;)) know that - certainly with EK, but probably with many, out or even all airlines - these discounts are base fare only. I can understand that they can't discount government / airport taxes, but not discounting YQ is a bit disingenuous. A few posts above have pointed out WHY there are 'airline generated surcharges' (which used to be called fuel surcharges when fuel costs were still going up consistently)
