Double Tier and Skywards Miles till Aug 2021

No idea if it is targeted, but as being one of the founding members of Skywards, for their 20th anniversary, members get double tier and skywards miles till Aug 2021 (for bookings made until 10 Dec). Not a bad campaign to be honest.

IntrepidAfrican2 Sep 20, 2020 11:00 am

I’ve got the same, but only until March 2021. Guess I’m paying the price for having lost my original Skywards number acquired in 2001.

thijsseh Sep 20, 2020 11:34 am

Mine is until March 2021 too. And book before 10 December. Bit restrictive if you ask me.
Only tier miles are doubled, not Skywards (From a first glance at the email).

I got it to March 2021. Given they are not really extending membership that much, its not great to be honest

Agreed. If this is the offer, given my review date is in November, I’ll probably make use of my QR status match, unless I’m flying to DXB.

Is this the "big news" people were hyping up?

Can't believe no extending status...

BadoRas Sep 20, 2020 5:06 pm

Here's what I was offered;

"While your travels may have been interrupted this year, we’d like to ensure that you continue to enjoy the rewards of your membership, starting with a special treat of double Tier Miles and Skywards Miles on any flight you book by 10 December 2020, for travel until 31 August 2021."

I suspect the 'travel until' date has something to do with the review date, but not sure. Mine is 30 April, and I have my existing membership level until then.

Maybe the offer of double Skyward miles depends on membership level? Maybe the offer expiry date also?

BadoRas Sep 20, 2020 5:17 pm

It may all depend upon membership level, tempered by years of membership.

I have been flying Emirates consistently since 1998, and joined Skywards as soon as it started in 2000.

IntrepidAfrican's comment re years of membership is interesting, considering he/she is platinum, but due to rejoining some time after because of lost membership details, has only been given a 'travel until' date of March.

Has anyone else received this offer? Do these ideas seem right?

I also received this offer with “travel until 31 March 2021”, I am currently still Silver, have not travelled this year on EK due to Covid and had to reschedule trips..

I'm now a lowly Blue as my longhaul in March was cancelled (although Mrs SSF, who is on identical flights is still Silver) but as I have been a member since the late 90's my offer is
"book by 10 December 2020, for travel until 31 August 2021";

Only tier miles (like me) or Skywards as well?

One second I thought I can earn Oneworld miles (BA Tier Avios) from EK flights.. I would definitely book EK A380 if I could credit these for OW!

"A Double Treat For You Get double Skywards Miles too for being one of our very first members when we launched in 2000."-so I get both.
Must be length of time I've been a member, as I have never been above Silver

Double tier miles only for me, until 31st March 2021. Not an early member.
