Emirates this week filed additional changes to its Northern summer 2021 season, effective from 28MAR21. Latest adjustment sees additional destinations being removed, including the following, as of 01OCT20:

Dubai – Denpasar – Auckland (Reservation already closed prior to schedule removal. EK continues to serve Denpasar)

Can anyone comment how is boarding and disembarking done? Trying to select seats on my flights in a months time, its a 777 on Economy, unsure to select row 17 which is first row or row 21 which is back of first economy cabin but next to the gallery and I guess would be able to walk off as there is a door in the gallery

The door in the mid galley is an over wing emergency exit, if they let you off there, you have a BIG problem

Normally in a single airbridge operation, they will use door 2L which in the 3 class frame is between the two business class cabins. Row 17 should get you off first. The crew will block your exit until the First and Business class passengers have left.
In DXB, if you have an airbridge gate, they often use 1L for F and 2L for J and Y. If you have a bus stand, they may even use the door right at the back (is it called 5L?) for Y (as well as 2L when J is done).

Residents to be allowed back in Dubai, effective 22nd June. The 14-day quarantine will now only be applicable if you test positive. They will just trust their residents to stay home for 24-48 hours after returning while the test results come back.

Tourists will be allowed from July 7th.

I wonder if EK will offer free testing for it's passengers like when it was a requirement for them to enter. I'm also guessing if they do get air bridges up and working then they will exempt. I was due to fly into DXB on the 17th on a connecting flight but was tempted to stay the day in DXB to rest up, this may not be happening On the way back in August I was due to spend 5 days in DXB. If they insist on quaruntine, I will just skip the dxb stop and hop back home

A simpler message
"International tourists flying to Dubai must ensure they meet all requirements for entry to the UAE.They must download the Covid-19 DXB app and register their details and fill in the Health Declaration Form. They must have valid health insurance.

Tourist must undergo a PCR Covid-19 test with a maximum validity of four days ahead of departure.

They will be required to show proof of not being infected with the virus on arrival at Dubai airports.

If they cannot provide proof, they will undergo a PCR test at the airport.

"All arrivals will be subject to thermal screenings. If a traveller is suspected to have Covid-19 symptoms, Dubai airports have the right to re-test to ensure the tourist is free of the virus," the committee stated."

On another note the DXB Covid app needs you to have a Dubai Number, wont allow registration otherwise

Scheduled to fly day after tomorrow - anyone flying tomorrow? If anyone can report whether this boarding by row nonsense is enforced that would be great.

But no lounges open. Hmmm.. what am I to do for 6 hours without a lounge?? Time to look for another route perhaps :/

Please do report back on your experience. Is this going to be your first trip as iO? Would be very interesting to see if they're changing the normal iO procedures regarding escorting/boarding first, etc.
