FlightRadar24 is looking a bit sad. My filter only shows Emirates flights, and now there is only a handful of cargo jets worldwide! Grab a screenshot as a memento of what hopefully is only a fleeting situation (pardon the pun).

What happened to the passengers stuck at dubai airport - were they allowed entry by UAE or flown back or what? I keep thinking of all these people stranded at airports around the world due to these sudden decisions.

Seems EK has dropped flight prices for later in the year, my itinary earlier in the year I paid Ł1300 inc price match and now its Ł1200, thought maybe I could get them to move my outbound airport without cost, was told system at present wont allow them to make any changes get error 16, call back in a few days Think I may call Amex and clarify from an insurance perspective, if I rebook to save Ł200 and I get affected for Corona out then, will they invalidate as I have purchased during where as my original flights were purchased before.

i dont think any insurance covers corona

seems to be sporadic price decreases then - i checked a random itinerary, my itinerary went up in price (same booking class)

Personally I do not believe this to be accurate, as all he has done with the list is take the resumption dates posted upthread here and tacked on the pre-virus EK schedule to it. For example he said 6x A380 to LHR and 3x A380 to LGW on flight resumption day? We all know the resumption of services will ramp up much slower than that, probably with an all-777 fleet til the year end judging by the number of parked A380's at Maktoum. It will take some time to re-start those planes.

Still it does give some insight into the pre-shutdown thinking and I think we can take those resumption dates as a kind of "Not Earlier Than This" date rather than the actual expected date.

Interesting, either EK site is still in process of being updated or it expects BAU in Junly? I noticed Man DXB will shift to two flights a day from June, it did run 3 flights a day and if its going to two, I need to check it does not cancel mine in the day or I will ask to shift to LHR. At present is shows in July 3 flights using the pre-shut down schedule however no flights until June when its expected to return. I guess between now and end of next week, expect more changes

There are some indications that flights will be resumed between 1 May and 1 July, depending on destinations.
In my own opinion, resumptions generally will depend more on permissions from governments around the world to resume flights than on what individual airlines want.

If taken out before a pandemic was declared, my insurance covers it. For me, Government travel restrictions are the next likely obstacle and I travelled on the day they were introduced.
