Getting to silver from 15k tier miles - quickest way?
 

Hey folks!

15k tier miles currently. Have some travel coming up but that will only get me to 20k tier miles - 5k miles short. Is there any way to get to silver by the next flight? There was a double tier miles offer but I missed it by a few days. It would have sorted me out perfectly.

Any other pointers?

Tier miles are only collected by actually flying. Every now and then (maybe once a year) there is a double tier miles promotion, but as you say, you have missed one recently and it’s unlikely there will be another one soon.
I presume you are aware that the tier miles you collect don’t only depend on the class of travel but also on the fare type. From some regions, the price difference between a Saver and a Flex fare in economy is quite small (South Africa comes to mind), whereas the difference in tier miles collected is substantial. Quite a few savvy EK travellers buy Flex fares for that reason only. I don’t know where you are based, and this situation is not true for all markets, but it would be worth looking into if you want to optimise tier mile accrual.
