DXB Left Luggage Belt?

Hi Guys,

wondering if anyone of you has any experiance, so I have a flight into DXB currently for 9am, I am thinking on landing, I want to go duty free before I leave DXB as I have 5 days in DXB. I am wondering, my luggage at DXB how long does it remain on the carosel and what happens to it after that? I hope to on landing be around 30-45 mins in Duty Free and then straight to egates and collect luggage. I have a feeling it may be moved so trying to work out what actually happens? The reason I ask is apart from the obvious, I also have an option to switch to an evening flight into DXB 9pm and I am tempted to switch to that and on either flight I think I want to land and sleep first as I will be awake the previous 6 hours so tired. Suggestions are welcome

Are there any Duty Free shops on the 'wrong' side of transfer security? Certainly to get to the 'duty free zoo' you need to go through security first and it has been reported that you then can go 'the wrong way' through that security setup once you have done your shopping (or had your free meal in the lounge....).
Never done anything like this myself, I usually just transfer in DXB and on the one occasion I left the airport I did not really look for duty free shopping.

What are you after at Duty Free? If it's booze / ciggies, then there's a duty free place in the baggage collection hall in T3.

Maybe the OP wants a wider range of booze/ciggies?.I haven't been to the arrivals duty free for years but it did not have the entire range of products.

Thanks guys, did not actually consider the lounge (lol, maybe a pit stop is possible) I was actually looking at heading in to pickup a bottle of something for a friend but also needed a specific lens which I plan to order and pay using part of my skywards.
@thijsseh you are right I've done it in the past but on that instance, I landed around 11am and my next fight was following morning. I decided I wanted to relax in the lounge before venturing into the city so sat around to relax and have a bite before leaving. Actually reminds on that instance, I was in a good mood I flying solo I offered a few people lounge access on the plane and even offered to swipe the next person at Marhaba in for free, no takers, I thought sureley someone wants a lounge visit. Was not asking for anything in return either, I had a priortypass so it was paid for already.

Just keep in mind that the "duty free" in arrivals does charge tax, and prices are different between those stores and behind customs.

Do they have an issue if the booze is bought from 'inside' and you then try to exit landside.?

Is what you intend to buy obscure? Can you not get it at the "arrivals" duty free shop in the baggage carousel area? Or get it at duty free at your point of origin? Or even on the plane?

I think buying inside (airside) without a boarding pass will cause the 5% VAT to be charged, or potentially, they will decline to sell anything to you.

LeClos has a mechanism to charge the 5% vat for pickups on your return to DXB, took me a while to get it refunded when they realized I was picking up for a connection and not arrival into DXB.
