Business class vs. Marhaba arrivals?

Emirates/Dubai experts, I need your help! :-) A friend and I are both arriving on the same flight. Neither of us will have checked luggage, and we need to try to get out of the airport as quickly as possible. We'll be traveling together in my pre-booked Emirates chauffeur car. I am traveling in Business, so I'm assuming I will get to go through a fast track immigration line? (I have never arrived in Dubai on Emirates, only transited.) My friend is in Economy, but has purchased the Marhaba Bronze service to get through immigration faster.

Here's my question(s)....
1. If we aren't collecting bags, we will still get "fed" into the same area so we can meet up before finding the driver? I'm not familiar with the arrivals at DBX so I don't know if we'll even end up in the same immigration hall.
2. Do you think one of us will be significantly faster than the other (business class fast track vs. Marhaba)?
3. Would it be worth it for me to also purchase Marhaba bronze (about 30 USD) to use that instead?

Thanks! I'd appreciate any advice from people more experienced with the DBX airport.

Welcome to the EK forum!

I think the key question here is: What time is your flight arriving? That has a huge bearing on the answers above.

My info is about 8 years out of date but for what it is worth with Marhaba I was escorted from the plane to the customs line then quite embarrassingly taken to the front of the queue, it might be better organised these days.

As Metanoia says it does depend on your arrival time. I have never had to wait that long though and sometimes a normal queue is quicker than the fast track queue but that is pretty self explanatory when you walk through and see the desks.

This is a relatively quiet time for arrivals, so you shouldnt experience any major hold ups at immigration.
If i were in your position i would just stick with the plan for you to go business fast track and your friend use Marhaba.
I would be surprised if there were any more than a handful of people in the queue in front of you at that time of the evening.

F, J, Y, Marhaba pax all arrive in the same hall at T3. For Bronze Marhaba, you are met in the arrivals hall only.

8pm is typically pretty dead at T3.

They may not even have a minder at the Fastrack line.

And finally: one you are through immigration, you walk past the luggage carrousels and after that you have the choice to either turn left for the 'regular' exit or right for the CD exit. It's well signposted and straightforward. The point where you make that choice would probably the best place to meet up with your friend.

This is helpful! Thanks! And thanks to everyone who chimed in. I think I'll just use the business class line and hope we get through at roughly the same time & can find each other before the chauffeurs.

Sounds like you're arriving from the US. Like others have said, it's pretty dead...

If there is a line that you want to skip, or to prepare for the future - and this counts for both of you - sign up for SmartGates, follow the purple signs. They're biometrics driven immigration processing that almost always has no line.

That way you can use the SmartGates on departure too! See the separate thread(s) on that topic for more info.

From my experience and before I signed up for smart gates, I was always able to access the Fast Track line, with or without a Fast Track card. These cards are usually handed out on the plane shortly before landing. The person monitoring the line always waved me through.

Your friend should have no problem joining you in the Fast Track line. If the cards are handed out on board, you could always ask for another one.

It can happen that the Fast Track line is longer than the other lines so a person in the Fast Track line could be delayed.

Personally, I wouldn't bother with the Marhaba arrivals service.

I used the marhaba services last October. I had arrived at DXB from LGW around 8pm which it was crazy busy. The plane had landed next to a gate where literally the queue is for Fast track immigration. Anyway I was met by the representative which was a very lovely lady from south east Asia. She took us to a Immigration line with no queue and then headed us to baggage where they have someone to collect our bags, and then onto EK chauffeur arrivals lounge. She stayed with us all the way till it was our turn for a vehicle which was nearly 30 mins!

The only thing worth it to me as much as the lady was lovely and helpful was the immigration. Even EK fast track had a long queue of people waiting but obviously I dont know how long it took for those to get through if staff are efficient. The baggage and walk through was just a bonus but its really not needed if you fly J. If you are like me, you dont like queues, you get annoyed quickly and you just like to be efficient in time and not bothered about an added cost I think you will find its worth it for arrivals at a busy time in DXB.

They don't hand out cards anymore, it's printed on your BP "Fast Track - Dubai" above the barcode.

As others have said, 8pm is fairly quiet with the wave of North American flights arriving. You should be through and in the car in less than 30 minutes.

Unless they put you at C1 which happened to me the last time I arrived from SFO. Then you have almost a mile long hike ahead of you...

Yes, I agree. I've landed several times from 7pm-9pm and immigration is almost always empty.
