Emirates flight booking - name issue

Just booked a return flight from London to Dubai on Emirates.

On the first booking page after you've selected your flights, it stated put in your name as it appears in your passport. On my passport there are two names and then my surname underneath (as is this the case for most people).

So I added both my forenames but once my ticket was purchased, both my first names are merged together now. So e.g. if both my first names are John Edward, on the ticket it appears as Johnedward.

Is this going to cause an issue?

Not a problem, this happens to me every time.

Its not an issue, normal as names on tickets don't have spaces. For reference, I only use First & Last without middle names

seems like they have something official on this now too as i got pointed to this by EK the other day

under their FAQ Booking with Emirates:

If you entered multiple first names, or multiple family names for a passenger, it is entirely normal for the names on the ticket to be joined together, even if you had entered them separately when booking online. For example: if you entered Mr John Adam Smith when booking online, your ticket will show the name as SMITH/JOHNADAMMR. This is standard airline industry practice.

It's probably because back in the day, when computer storage was ultra expensive, a space was considered wasteful :)

As others have said, this is normal. It looks weird to me too, but I do not have issues with it, and fortunately Emirates, immigration, and security don't seem to either! :)

I was on the phone with Emirates late one night back in June trying to have them put a space between my names. The supervisor got involved too, and they all came to the consensus that it's suppose to be that way, but it's just fine.

So, don't worry like I was!

yeah this is normal. I have 2 family names and I always enter them without any space to avoid the confusion !! never seen any issue..
