Hmm, got an e-mail for double miles with the same general terms (travel date eligibility, fare brands).

Data points: Silver, 25k tier miles this year, no travel since July... been a slow travel year.

I got this offer. I'm guessing the bonus won't be on tier miles?

No, clearly not. About a year ago there was a ‘double tier miles’ offer. This time around it’s triple Skywards miles.

Got this offer. Nice one Emirates

Double miles are not targeted: you can register here:
https://www.emirates.com/om/english/...n-double-miles

But note also the following restriction, besides the restrictions on dates and fares:

d) Emirates and flydubai flights originating from the United Kingdom, UAE, United States, India, Germany, France, Italy, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Australia, New Zealand and Nigeria are not included under this promotion.

T&C's for mine don't have this line, I'd hope not because it'd be a colossal marketing targeting fail as I live in the US.

There are (at least) two different offers. I am assuming the email that states the exclusions is because if you depart from those locations you would get triple as opposed to double. For example ex UK email offer is triple, ex Asia it is double.

I'm Gold, based in the UK and got the email for double miles.

The treble Tier Miles offer last year was slightly later in the year (I booked 1st week in December) and I've been holding off booking hoping for something similar.

thijsseh Oct 7, 2019 3:41 am

I'm Gold, based in South Africa. Got the triple miles offer, no mention about restrictions from where.

Longton Oct 7, 2019 4:59 am

Also gold, also (mainly) based in South Africa, also got triple miles offer.

A fellow FT’er, also Gold and based in South Africa got the ‘double miles’ version. So how this promotion is targeted is not immediately obvious.

A lowly Blue in the UK, I got the triple miles offer.

Alisonnoonan Oct 7, 2019 6:27 am

Its a tempting offer, but nowhere near as tempting as Turkish Airlines concurrent double/triple status miles offer. Renewing Platinum with Turkish is easier than retaining silver with Emirates.

indm3 Feb 7, 2020 1:18 am

valid multiple times?

I didn't receive triple miles on my next itinerary HYD - HND (via DXB) Jan27 - Feb2. I read the terms and found that the ticket had to be purchased by Oct 16.

All times are GMT -6. The time now is 9:03 pm.
