McDonald's and First Class

Presently on EK770 to Cape Town.

On boarding I walked through first class and saw a passenger eating a Big Mac meal. Our departure gate B27 was close to the restaurant.

I assume the passenger had bought the meal and it wasn't an effort by Emirates to cut first class catering costs.

Aside from the cheese and the wine the food is pretty bad on EK

Of course it wasn't provided by EK.

Some people choose to bring their own food - and even pair it with the DP and other drinks offered. And why not.

The F lounge burger is definitely better than McDonalds!

I can't even count the number of times I've been on a US domestic light where the guy next to brings a huge smelly slice of Sbarro pizza on board.

This was probably a FTer.

The regulars here know that Dom pairs well with a remarkably large portion of the McDonalds menu.

As seen in this TR https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/emir...ip-report.html and other posts on FT.

Also on the BA board (of course) https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/brit...rst-class.html

Why does it bother you?

For sure I can say that lukewarm McNuggets pair well with Caviar, much better than EK's blins anyways! :D

I think I'll pass on the fish eggs and chicken mystery meat combo. Now please pass me the champagne.

That is not much of a challenge. 🤔

Tell that to the American airlines, namely United who served me a "cheeseburger" that McDonalds could beat any day of the week!

I would have thought that comparing the EK F Lounge food with the UA on-board offerings is a bit pointless.... ;) Surprised about the outcome I'm not!

:D Yes, I was quite taken aback by how miserable US carriers are in "domestic" "first class".
