Itinerary Help
Hey guys,
Can you help me work out how best to book this itinerary?
1st September EK018 MAN -> DXB (14:00)
1st September EK957 DXB -> BEY (07:30)
2nd September EK954 BEY -> DXB (19:40)
3rd September EK803 DXB -> JED (16:00)
4th September SV1032 JED -> RUH (13:00)
4th September EK818 RUH -> DXB (21:25)
6th September EK019 DXB -> MAN (14:35)
There is loads of availability for Business Saver tickets for MAN->BEY, MAN-> JED and MAN->RUH returns, but as soon as try to stretch one a little bit, it breaks the ticket rules and Business Flex is the cheapest I can book.
The timings are not precise, but the order I need to visit the cities is.
Also, interesting piece of information, Arabian Pass is always available to book, even if it says it isnt online, you just need to phone the Gold Skywards desk and ask.
Id never heard of Arabian Pass before, but it allows you to add up to x4 short hall trips on Emirates to any Business Class ticket for $225. Unfortunately Jeddah is not included.

The dark arts of ticketing etc. but trying an itinerary like that isn’t going to be cheap without a Saturday stay at the very least I would have thought.

A Saturday night stay can (not always) make it slightly cheaper but you are also within 2 weeks of your intended departure date which can cause an increase. Am sure one of the ticket experts will be able to expand a bit more.

Forget the JED-RUH leg on EK, book everything else by feeding leg for leg into ITA matrix to get s price and see if you get the fare you need. Consider just a long stopover in DXB returning from BEY and separate tickets to JED and back from RUH..
Also consider flying only Bey-dxb and then ruh-dxb, with dxb-jed on a separate ticket.
I regularly book these kinds of itineraries but with BOM and HYD instead of RUH and JED. I'm flying later this week:
Cpt-dxb
Bom-dxb-muc
Ams-dxb-cpt
Separate ticket dxb-hyd
Look at the fare rules. Stopover, stopover duration or advance purchase might be causing it not to meet J Saver Rules. Also are you checking availability on an O/D basis (MAN-BEY as a single search rather than MAN-DXB and dxb-bey separately. Married segments make these kind of itineraries hard to accurately predict and price since you can't sear h married segments with stopovers on EF (but Matrix will marry them)

What about a separate BEY-JED/RUH/BEY ticket via DXB so a bit of backtracking:
MAN-DXB-BEY (ticket1)
BEY-DXB-JED (ticket2)
RUH-DXB-BEY (ticket2)
BEY-DXB-MAN (ticket1)

Well, you cant EK957 and EK18 on the same day. Book it without a stopover (as in MAN-BEY) but just choose the longest layover possible as long as it is less than 24 hours it shouldn't trigger the fare difference

Thanks all, I think this may be the answer:
TICKET 1: 1
st
September EK018 MAN -> DXB (14:00)
TICKET 1: 2
nd
September EK957 DXB -> BEY (07:30)
TICKET 2: 2
nd
September EK954 BEY -> DXB (19:40)
TICKET 2: 3
rd
September EK801 DXB -> JED (01:45)
TICKET 3: 3
rd
September SV1032 JED -> RUH (13:00)
TICKET 2: 4
th
September EK820 RUH -> DXB (09:35)
TICKET 2: 5
th
September EK955 DXB -> BEY (20:55)
TICKET 1: 6
th
September EK956 BEY -> DXB (02:05)
TICKET 1: 6
th
September EK019 DXB -> MAN (14:35)
Significantly more inconvenient, but cheaper and lots more TPs to make up for it.

Thought I would report that I managed to snag a J (Saver) to F upgrade for the MAN->DXB and DXB->BEY legs for only 49,500 points total.
Which in my experience is absurdly low.

Calculating separately, MAN/DXB is 39000 and DXB/BEY is 19500 (both J Saver to F), so it would then be 58500 in total.
The important point here is thus that they still do combined upgrades but don't show them on the calculator, I don't understand why...
How did you process this upgrade? Website, app, call centre?
