DXB transfer from terminal 3 to 1
Just noticed that a booked flight in November now has a transfer time reduced to 75 minutes (originally 90 mins), flying J, both flights on A380s. Arriving Terminal 3, departure Terminal 1. Would appreciate any advice on the route for this. The Emirates website mentions that " If you are connecting to another flight within 75 minutes, a dedicated team of people will escort you to your gate to make sure you board your next flight in time" - not sure what this entails . Any recent experience would be very helpful, thank you.

Which route are you flying? Emirates only flies from Terminal 3 and I don't think any other airline serves DXB with an A380, so sounds like you're going to be in and out of T3 (in fact concourses A, B and C, T3 is the landside check-in and arrivals area). I wouldn't worry too much, not much you can do anyway. If you miss the onward flight they'll rebook you on the next one and provide a hotel if it's a very long wait.

Did wonder what the Emirates dedicated team are? (Going out in F/J shows arrive 1 depart 3, all 4 legs 380. Did book going out F/F but they changed 2nd leg from a 777 3 class to a 2 class 380!) |

Almost certainly a mistake or reference to terminal at BKK/MAN.

I think you are reading the terminals wrong way around. The EK flight to MAN arrives at T1 in MAN

So nice when some one holds their hands up and admits fault - out of interest if you booked FF and they took the F off one of the legs do you get a refund?

Regarding downgrade from F/F to F/J Emirates say I can only claim after completion of the flight and give no indication of the amount I will receive. If I had prior knowledge there is no way I would have booked F as the price difference is appreciable (I was treating myself for a special birthday). It is no longer possible to fly MAN-BKK in F with Emirates unless you want to spend 8 1/2 hours in DXB lounge (hotel not offered as other earlier flights available albeit in J). |
Yes i looked at it a while ago on the same routing and the thing that got me was that the price if you searched for F was the same regardless of whether F was available for the whole or only on some of the legs

The refund will be small. I'd take the 8hr layover if I was you. Even if you shell shell out $100 for your own hotel.
Also note if flying J on a 2-class plane on an F fare you should get access to the F lounge in DXB. |

a very expensive lounge visit given the excellence of the J class lounge in Dubai which has to be one of the best "hub airline" lounges around

Indeed, but if OP does fly in J with an F Ticket he/she may as well know to make full use of their privileges

Since the "panic" has been resolved, I am closing this thread as it is veering off coruse.
