If we’re going to start a campaign then it should be to bring back the most beautiful aircraft ever built, the Super VC-10. The A380 might be quiet, comfortable and have a fancy bar but it’s the ugliest thing ever seen in the sky.

Passengers loved it. Why didn't Emirates add a surcharge of £100 - £200 to A380 flights? It would have reduced the ..... element on board their LHR-DXB flights and helped to plug the financial hole. Airbus could have got some of that surcharge. A lot of passengers, myself included, seek out routes that use an A380.
Plus, where are all these empty A380 flights? I've only ever been on LHR-DXB flights where every seat is occupied.
Regardless, the A380 will still be around to enjoy for a decade at least.

Is anyone able to compare the A350 to the A380 in terms of quietness, anti-turbulence capabilities and feeling of spaciousness (very important for those who get claustrophobic aboard an aircraft)? I've never flown on an A350 yet.

With 747-i dying and a380 dead, I wonder what aircraft that airlines will use for those routes that need high capacity aircraft. Didnt hear any noise about boeing and airbus start developing those jumbos
will miss the shower on 380

Indeed, I've been asking myself the same question. All those A380s flying into slot-restricted airports like LHR will (in 10 years time) have to be replaced by smaller aircraft like A350 and 777s. At the same time, global passenger numbers are growing like 4% annually. How is this supposed to work out?

The simple way to reverse this decision is to agree to make EK whole for the losses it will incur over the next 15 years as it flies an aircraft which does not perform properly and does not meet the requirements of most of its customers. Better to have a less snazzy bar and a functioning engine than the other way.
Loads are, of course, irrelevant. It is PRASM that counts and nobody here on FT ought to know that unless they have hacked EK's financial systems.

Pretty sure EK got their first A380 in the summer of 2008 so that would be just over ten years old now...at least as far as 'in service' not from manufacture
