With a view to providing more efficient and direct connection options for customers travelling to and from Australia, Emirates will suspend flights EK 418/419 between Bangkok and Sydney from 01 June 2019. Emirates will continue to serve Sydney with three flights a day non-stop to Dubai, and Emirates’ customers wishing to travel between Bangkok and Sydney will have flight choices provided by Emirates’ partner Qantas.
Very disappointing. Evening departure to BKK was very convenient.

Just trying to clarify why there was a cut-back given loads are quite high for a significant part of the year. Seeing as many other routes have had frequency additions, is it simply a case of reallocating the limited tech crew resources to more consistently profitable routes? It is easy to cut back on Australian routes too, given the QF opportunities.

Agreed very disappointing loved the evening departure especially when A380 was being used. Upcoming trip has been affected now inbound is QF metal. This will be the litmus test on if I continue to stay with EK or go back to TG or SQ

Longer routes to Australia or South America are being cut while some shorter routes to Africa or Europe are being added. In total this means a reduction of capacity as more flights will be cancelled than added in the coming months.
Seasonal flights to ATH, FCO, ARN, ZAG were there last year so this means no increase compared to 2018, 3rd daily to DME will also be cancelled from June.
Etihad will get rid of some pilots, maybe EK can hire them to have a more stable operation going forward.
