Umphafa Lounge, Durban Airport

Flew back from Durban on Emirates on Sunday. This is the state of some of the chairs on the upper level, disgraceful eh? The lower level was busy but looked acceptable. I think Emirates should be made aware of this but one would think that perhaps their staff would be checking it every now and then.

I don’t Tweet/Facebook etc., but I have just sent an email to customer services. I didn’t think to mention it at the gate. In any case the boarding was a bit chaotic.

Ah, I sent my email to [email protected] and it has come back as undeliverable even though I found that address on the Emirates website. Not terribly computer literate if anyone could make a simple suggestion please.

I am from Durban and regularly use this lounge
I too agree it's s very poor. You should tweet the king shaka airport account too.
The problem is there only 1-3 international flights a day from Durban so there is not much motivation for them to improve it untill there is more flights
The lounge also gets very cramped but i guess better than sitting on the floor outside

I received a fairly long, personal email from Emirates apologising and stating that the matter is being looked into although they have no jurisdiction over the facilities as they are managed by a third party. Their intention is to open dedicated lounges across the network.
