Transiting through Dubai -- Lounge Access

Apologies if this has been answered -- I did try searching!

I'm traveling to DBX in First Class. Connecting a few hours later to another Emirates flight in Biz Class (no 1/C seats available). Will I have access to First Class Lounge in DBX? I'm Gold, if that matters. Thanks.

No. The lounge access is based on the class you are in on the flight departing the airport and not the class you arrive in.

If you were sold a J fare for your connecting flight then it would not be possible to use the F lounge ( you can always pay and enter if you want )

The only exception that I have seen on the forum (no personal experience though) is if you were ticketed on a particular sector in F and you end up in J due to an aircraft swap etc.

As you are specifying being "gold", you presume that this status may add some perks.
Well, no.
Gold entitles you to business class lounge whatever your class of travel.
You need to reach Platinum to enter the Nirvana (First class lounge).

Assuming you are on a through ticket and connecting from F to a flight with no F cabin it is worth asking at lounge check-in if you have access to the F lounge.

I have flown a couple of times Asia-DXB-DUB in F over the last year or so where the DXB-DUB leg has had no F cabin. While my initial DXB-DUB boarding pass has indicated Business lounge access this has been quickly replaced with one showing First class access on both occasions. YMMV.

seconded this... have had similar experience. I think they can somehow see in the ticketing that you were ticketed if F but that the aircraft doesnt have an F cabin on that particular flight.
