Chauffeur Service Question

I am traveling with my family. My family is in economy, but I am in business. Emirates has the chauffeur service. If I reserve the service, will they accommodate my family also both for airport drop off and pick up on return?

They shouldn't have a problem. However, I've only taken 2 people max with me who were not travelling in J, I'm not sure if the driver would be okay with taking a large amount of passengers.

Similar to the above, from what I have seen 1-2 people are okay but I feel like when it is more it is also going to be more bags so there may actually not be room for everyone and their bags, especially with Emirates' baggage allowances.

Just request a larger car. The CD service probably won't ask who the other pax are

Not traveling with your family then!

You do not say how large the family which might influence them but important to remember it is at the discretion of the driver and they could refuse so have a plan B just in case (at least as far as getting to the airport) and tip the driver accordingly

And luggage. That is what most drivers object to. They like all the luggage to fit in the boot. In Australia anyway.

In the past I've had two economy passengers travelling with me to the airport, so I requested a van or a larger vehicle. No problems. Emirates only wanted verification that the other pax were travelling on the same flight with me. If not, they would not have been allowed to travel to the airport with me.

I've had an EasyJet pax travel with me in a 7 series in VIE, just asked the driver on the spot

Always worth a try.

I will be in Dubai on 30 August when 2 friends are arriving from Ethiopia in J. I called EK to ask if I could travel with them to their hotel and got a resounding no. The reason being I was not a passenger on the plane they arrived on.

I guess I could try asking the driver as they are leaving.

As I said earlier it is at the discretion of the driver but the official answer is no

Better not to ask EK, IMO.

I've also shared with friends I was meeting who arrived on different airlines, let alone different flights, and the drivers have always been OK with it.

Thanks everyone, the lesson seems to be to keep EK out of the picture and deal with it at driver level :)

As other FTers have said, luggages are the key. You will probably need to request a larger car (a van).
If outstations will probably oblige, it is not possible to book a van at DXB arrival for one person. It will be subject to availability and to cooperation from the CD agent. As for anything, status will help.

If one sedan (E-class type) is enough, then, no need indeed to involve EK desk.
