FZ Redemptions
Recently booked DXB-KRK-DXB in Y in February. I could not see any option for miles upgrade online, so I called FZ to enquire. The explanation I was given seems very odd... apparently the 150k+ miles balance I have would be converted to a cash equivalent value and then redeemed against the difference I paid for the Y fare and and the new J fare. This would still leave a significant balance to be paid in cash. I cannot remember the amounts quoted, but it made absolutely no sense to use miles. Has anyone else come across this and been given the same information? Perhaps they are still working out how they are going to structure redemptions and this is just a temporary measure? Also flying FZ to EBL in Y next week, and dreading T2 already! |

I was going to book a DOH-DXB ticket using Skywards, but the cost for a 1:20 blocked flight is more than EK first from LHR-DXB. Am I missing something or do they really charge 100k+ for a business ticket?
