40k miles expiring... What would you do?

I have 40k miles about to expire on Emirates in 2 days, what would you do with them?

Transfer? Buy random things in their store? Donate?

You can also transfer into Heathrow rewards, if you travel through LHR a lot. Last time I transferred they had a double your money offer on points.

Need to book any hotels in the next few months? Use them for that. Or car rentals

Car rentals are only available in Dubai. Hotels are limited to a few Marriott properties in the middle east. Very disappointing.

You can use them on EasyJet. From 7500 Skywards for a single trip if I remember correctly.

Well, some US based folk have been seen in Europe occasionally.

I could tell you how I spent my reward miles and this might give you a few ideas on how to use them. Over a period of seven years or so as I accumulated the miles I spent them as follows. Thrice I used them for a free upgrade to business class on long haul flights. Once I got a free return ticket Sao Paulo to Lisbon on TAP airlines which is a partner airline for Emirates. but had to pay a service charge which was reasonable. From the Emirates shop I bought a golf bag and got it delivered to a friend in Dubai so the shipping charges were nil. I have also from the Emirates shop taken gift vouchers for miles - valid for a year. And in May this year I used miles for a miles plus cash ticket from Vienna to Dubai via Emirates. All in all I have had a great time flying Emirates and spending their miles.
