Emirates Flight cancellation

Hello Everyone,
I recently booked an economy flight with Emirates.
but due to change in plans I now want to cancel my flights and ask for Refund. Is it possible?

Sure, what does your ticket say? It depends what fare type you booked, if it's a Flex or Flex Plus fare you can get a full refund (minus a cancellation fee for Flex), if Saver you can cancel but probably only get taxes back. If someone in your immediate family has passed away (hopefully not!) or you are sick and have a doctor's letter you may be able to get a full refund regardless of ticket type.

Go to Manage My Booking. You will find an option for cancellation. But as skywardhunter indicates, you wont get much back. The fare conditions (attached to the e-ticket you would have received), will set out the conditions.

I’m not familiar with this fare’s rules regarding using the value of the ticket towards future travel? I’m assuming since it’s super discounted that this isn’t an option?

OP - What do the fare rules for your ticket say? The starting point is to carefully read them and determine how they apply to your situation. Also consider whether you may do better through your travel insurance or, if there is a work-related reason here, through your employer.

We've had to cancel J bookings once in the past due to medical reasons and did so a few days from scheduled departure. We changed the bookings to another date and took a small hit for changing the flights - £500 each from memory. We claimed this from the travel insurance and ended up not being out of pocket over the whole exercise but had other flights to look forward to 8 or 9 months later. If you get 'naff all' for cancelling is changing the booking an option to consider OP?

Yes definitely try applying the value of the ticket to a future trip.

If this isn’t an option, coming down with the flu, and getting a good doctor to write you a note. Well, that wouldn’t be such a terrible idea.

Yes, insurance claims as we know are an exercise in exclusion from the viewpoint of the provider so you must have a cast iron medical certificate to vouch for the cancellation. Actually you have to have a statement from a doctor that you were advised by him/her against travelling because of the medical condition for them to entertain a claim.
