Round the World
Its a slow Wednesday and I have a "few" weeks leave to take later this year so decided to look into EKs RTW offer.
An email from EK provided this information - "Kindly note our Round World Offer is only possible with Emirates and Air Tahiti Nui airlines. The flight from Paris to Los Angeles will be operated by Air Tahiti Nui in direct flight. We inform you that our Round World offer is only available from France. For reminder, the route must irreparably go east or west, according to the chosen direction, without going backwards. O itinerary towards the East: departure from Paris or Nice towards Dubai and return to Paris via Los Angeles O itinerary to the West: departure from Paris to Los Angeles, and return to Paris or Nice via Dubai" There are more caveats which can be found by searching for RTW through google. This was followed by a suggested routing from an EK agent. Paris – Los Angeles – Papeete – Auckland / Christchurch – Sydney – Bangkok – Paris. The approximate total amount fare is about is 3000EUR per adult in economy class and 7720EUR per adult in business class (taxes included). My next question being how many tier miles would this accrue, which sadly is only 9188 miles. (I appreciate people don't tend to take up RTW offers to accrue tier miles). Having a play around on the EK site you can fly - Man - DXB DXB - MLE MLE - CMB CMB - SIN SIN - SYD SYD - AKL AKL - MAN For £1830, basically a flex+ outbound to AKL and a Flex RTN, (for ease I left a weeks gap between each connection on the outbound). Not quite a round the world trip but a decent amount of stops and 21,438 tier miles. Whats the most amount of connections you have had in one flight with EK? Has anyone ever used the RTW offer? |

I recall a few years ago there was a RTW agreement with United.

Wow, didn't even know EK offered RTW options, particularly given their lack of alliances (apart from QF) - and then with Air Tahiti??? Is this a French special or does EK offer this in other markets as well?

Things changed when the airlines consolidated into alliances and the published RTW fares increased greatly |

Have you got a decent stop over in DXB before flying onto JFK? That would be epic doing it in one go!
