New Year - New beer (and other drinks)

Those of us used to Heineken, Amstel and Bud willl need to get used to Leffe, Stella and Tiger.

Several changes to spirits choices too including Belvedere Vodka and Sipsmith Gin in J.

From January 2018 we're changing some alcohol brands. The updated bar paperwork will gradually be available. (For a short time, the beverages listed on the menu may not match what we load.

Happy about the Leffe, as it actually has some body to it. Glad Bud is gone as that is an embarrassment to the US beer scene.

No real bourbon in J? Perhaps send us some Woodford Reserve from up front? It's USD 29 at Costco... come on!

Disappointing. I was hoping at least one Pale Ale or IPA would finally make the list... at least in J.

AWESOME! I dislike Heineken, and Tiger is one of my favourite beers!! Big upgrade if you ask me. Leffe and Stella are also outstanding beers.

Bud is an embarrassment full stop, Heineken is too bitter for my tastes, especially in the air where the hoppiness is accentuated, Amstel isn't bad, but won't mind it going for these additions, all of which I'd pick over an Amstel.

Swap that Amstel back for the Stella and that would be an excellent change.

I do hope that Paradis and Royal Salute will remain in F???

Could you upload or share a link to the list?

I wonder if the change to Leffe+Stella both great beers has anything to do with the 2nd daily frequency DXB/BRU? And to that route given preference to the new upgraded cabin ?

I would agree with that swap, but I didn't want to see the end of Heineken.

No idea about F I'm afraid. It was a multi page update for December I saw on board. I didn't read it all but took a pic of one page. I'd rather not post it in case it gets anyone into trouble, but the other "new" drinks mentioned were Amarula Cream Liqueur, Aperol Spritz, Bacardi 8 year old rum, De Kuyper creme de cassis, Jameson and Jura Superstition. Some of the pics were of miniatures so the A380 bar contents may differ. There was already Jameson in the bar I think.

Oh - and 100% mugs to be loaded in J from 1st December.

Just a change in supplier to save a few dirhams I believe.

I've never found beer on airplanes to be served cold enough, hence I never order any. How is it on EK?

I prefer the 12 YO over 15 in J so this was quite a loss to me...

The A380 bar chiller isn't all that cold probably because it gets opened all the time, best if they get it from the main chillers.
